An on
Compliance Certificate is requried on completion of a commercial
building built under the revised 2006 Building Regulation. The
regulation requires the as constructed building to be modelled and
simulated using an accredited software tool to evaluate its carbon
emission. This requirement may be fulfilled utilising SBEM
methodology. The assessment must be undertaken by a suitably
qualified Commercial Energy Assessor.
Calculations
carried out for Building Regulations compliance also form the basis
of the calculations for an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), a
certificate which is required by law on the sale or lease of a commercial
building.
To Part L2A
Compliance Certificate, an assessor will need to visit the site to
confirm that the constructed buildings fabric and installed HVAC
systems comply with current building regulation requirements. The
cost of producing a Commercial EPC on a property will vary according
to the size, complexity, availibility of as-built floor plans,
building fabric data and HVAC specifications.
